Exelon Drug Interactions

Anticholinergic medications, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and cholinergic drugs could potentially interact with Exelon. Drug interactions may occur if these medicines are taken together that could increase your risk of developing side effects or decrease the effectiveness of the medications. Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about all other medications you are taking to help prevent these negative Exelon drug interactions.

 

Exelon Drug Interactions: An Overview

Exelon® (rivastigmine tartrate) can potentially interact with several different medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to Exelon drug interactions include:
 
  • Anticholinergic medications, such as:
 
 
  • Cholinergic drugs (including other acetylcholinesterase inhibitors), such as:
 
    • Ambenonium (Mytelase®)
    • Donepezil (Aricept®)
    • Bethanechol (Urecholine®)
    • Edrophonium (Enlon®, Reversol®)
    • Guanidine
    • Methacholine (Provocholine®)
    • Succinylcholine (Anectine®, Quelicin®)
    • Tacrine (Cognex®)
 
  • Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as:
