The medication works by preventing the breakdown of a certain brain chemical (acetylcholine) that aids in multiple brain functions. You should talk to your healthcare provider before using Aricept if you have liver disease, difficulty passing urine, or heart disease. Potential side effects of the drug include fatigue, vomiting, and muscle cramps.
